Lighting for Work/Life Balance

Motif is a lighting product which playfully engages the user to create a separation between their work and home lives by transforming a single room into a space with two functions. By default it is in home mode, emitting a warm red light. However, when the user actively decides that it is time to work, they place their phone in the product’s alcove, and a pulley system uses the phone’s weight to move the light source into another lantern, creating a focused, cold task light.
